the u.s army
Saddam was removed from power, AND OSAMA BIN LADEN WAS KILLED but by a foreign army, not Iraqis. tHE AMERICAN'S MOVED IN WITHOUT SECOND GUESSING AND CONQUERED IRAQ TO PUT AN END TO ALL THE DESTRUCTION.
The invasion When Ṣaddam refused to leave Iraq, U.S. and allied forces launched an attack on the morning of March 20; it began when U.S. aircraft dropped several bombs on Bagdhad in which the Iraqi president was believed to be meeting with senior staff. This was followed by a series of air strikes directed against government and military, and within days U.S. forces had invaded Iraq from Kuwait and took over easily. Why this war was so important to the u.s politically(an inside look from soldiers deployed to iraq) | Why did the iraq war begin? The war started because the United States claimed that Iraq's possession of weapons of mass destruction (Bombs, assault rifles etc) was a threat to their security so the United States thought the problem should be taken care of and formed a army of different countries against the tyrant Saddam Hussein and invaded Iraq and deposed the Ba'athist. The invasion phase consisted primarily of a conventionally-fought war which concluded with the capture of the Iraqi capital of Baghdad by American forces. A BETTER GRASP ON THE WAR AND WHY IT CAME ABOUT. |
ESTABLISHING DEMOCRACY IN IRAQ
The u.s using their power to maintain peace
Knowing that Saddam Hussein's army was a threat to all of the Earth with their weapons of mass destruction, President George W. Bush had to take up arms and take effective action. He formed a coalition with many other countries and was preparing to move in. On March 20th at 7:57am a U.S bombed the outskirts of the city's capital. The bombing was called "the target of opportunity", which was for Saddam and his son's to leave Iraq and surrender in the next 48 hours. The general mission for the coalition forces was and I quote from president Bush "to disarm Iraq, to free its people, and to defend the world from grave danger."
The United States of America took on this threat head on and took little time in capitulating the enemy's main city pulling down a large statue of Saddam Hussein with a crowd of happy Iraqis. On May 1's president Bush flew into San Diego and gave a "NATIONAL" televised speech saying that the major combat in Iraq has ended. After a short period of time, even though the U.S overpowered the Iraq forces significantly the war was far from done. The U.S government then rallied up a larger army because the Iraq army has grown in number, they also gathered more heavy artillery. To show Iraqis that the coalition is really serious the U.S forces killed the 2 son's of Saddam and leaked pictures of the 2 bodies. Iraq began to fight back and bring out their weapons bombing the UN headquarters. The United States then took things into their own hands and charged right for the Iraqi army and finally found the whereabouts of Saddam Hussein and captured him in December 13th 2003.
The biggest threat and challenge that the Coalition forces had, especially for the United States of America was Osama Bin Laden. Osama was the most wanted terrorist in the world, the most intimidating after his 9/11 attack. Osama was in charge of Al-Qaeda, his terrorist group and was in charge of many bombings that had american soldiers or citizen's killed instantly or inflicted suffering pain. Bin Laden forced many men to fight by preaching untrue words from the Muslim religion saying "If you don’t fight, you will be punished by God.” Many innocent people were killed, and even though the U.S were decreasing in ranks they didn't let up until this tyranny was over. There was no question that bin Laden is at war with the United States, it was a political war. After a long time of bloodshed and investigating, the U.S Navy Seals finally spotted Osama Bin Laden on May 2nd, 2011. He was shot in the chest multiple times.
To conclude and sum up this article on the Iraq War, I would like to say that the United States of American spent a lot of hard work and dedication not only to this situation but mostly every situation they come about. They're always taking action against tyrant's and radical leaders who are a danger to us all. They have no boundaries in taking effective action when it comes to the safety of their people and innocent citizen's of other countries like Iraq and Afghanistan.
